Does anyone know how to deal with continuum sources in emission line data? Specifically, I have a Parkes data cube of redshifted HI. I have some annoying continuum sources in the field that are causing big ripples in my spectra. Does anyone know how best to remove this effect?
Not sure if this is of any help as you using Parkes data. but anyway... When I was trying to get line velocity cubes for my masers over the summer I had to use a Miriad task called 'uvlin' to seperate the continuum and line emission by specifying the channels that had my lines in them (used 'uvspec' in Miriad to view the amplitude versus channels or velocity).
Heres the link to the task pages, not sure if it will work on the whole image as I was only applying it to each of my individual sources, but maybe it will help!
